Emerging
You can see an empty chrysalis hanging to the
right of this recently emerged monarch butterfly. I found it in
the early afternoon.
Think about it: The chrysalis in the photo is
a clearish milky white.
 What is the color
when the caterpillar is inside?
What do you conclude?
The butterfly spent the day in this herb patch.
As soon as the sun warmed it the next morning,
it was gone.
