Pumpkin - Cucurbita pepo

American Indians made a variety of dishes using pumpkin.

It is one of The Three Sisters. (Corn, pumpkin and beans)

The seeds are delicious toasted.
The Pueblo people make Pumpkin Candy.
Even the blossoms are eaten!

Some folks like to scoop out the pulp and seeds and put a face
on the pumpkin as part of a holiday celebrated on October 31st.
The holiday is called Halloween.

The decorated pumpkin is called a Jack-O-Lantern.

People have used pumpkin to treat several illnesses.
